KSE-100 Surges Past 156,000 Mark with 1,810-Point Rally
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong session on Monday as the KSE-100 Index closed at 156,087, up by 1,810 points. The index recorded an intraday high of 156,199 and a low of 154,945, with trading volumes staying robust at 491 million shares and turnover of PKR 45.3 billion.
Key drivers of the rally included ENGROH (+5.5%, 405 points), HUBC (+5.8%, 330 points), LUCK (+2.7%, 184 points), MARI (+2.2%, 114 points), and SNGP (+9.6%, 112 points). On the volumes chart, KEL (93.6m shares) and BOP (71.4m shares) led the activity.
Buying momentum remained strong in E&Ps, OMCs, Power, and Fertilizer sectors, while the Banking sector showed mixed performance.
The index broke through the 156,000 level for the first time, marking an important psychological milestone. Analysts expect the bullish sentiment to persist, though intermittent volatility could emerge as the index edges closer to record highs. Investors are advised to stay focused on fundamentally sound sectors that continue to offer attractive dividend yields and long-term growth prospects.
