KSE-100 Ends 941 Points Lower Amid Subdued Trading
KARACHI, August 27, 2025:
The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 147,494 points, down by 941 points on Wednesday, after struggling to sustain early session gains.
During intraday trade, the index touched a high of 149,238 and a low of 147,337 points. Overall market participation remained muted, with 186.4 million shares traded, valuing at PKR 18.2 billion.
Key laggards included HBL (-71 points), Fatima Fertilizer (-70 points), Service Industries (-68 points), NBP (-66 points), and Mari Petroleum (-58 points).
On the volumes chart, PAEL (25.6 million shares) and BOP (22.3 million shares) led activity.
Market participants attributed the cautious sentiment to futures rollover pressure, with profit-taking observed across major sectors including banks, E&Ps, OMCs, and fertilizers.
