Pakistan’s OMC Sales Climb 6% MoM in August 2025, Driven by MS and HSD Demand
September 02, 2025 – Pakistan’s oil marketing companies (OMCs) posted a 6% month-on-month (MoM) increase in sales during August 2025, reaching 1.3 million tons, while volumes rose 7% year-on-year (YoY). Cumulatively, sales for 2MFY26 stood at 2.52m tons, reflecting a 5% YoY growth.
Product-Wise Trends
- Motor Spirit (MS): 0.67m tons (+8% YoY, +10% MoM)
- High-Speed Diesel (HSD): 0.52m tons (+14% YoY, +3% MoM)
- Furnace Oil (FO): 0.02m tons (-71% YoY, +21% MoM)
For 2MFY26, MS sales reached 1.29m tons, HSD 1.03m tons, while FO declined to 0.03m tons.
Company-Wise Performance
- Pakistan State Oil (PSO): Led the market with 0.55m tons (MS: 0.26m, HSD: 0.22m).
- Attock Petroleum (APL): Reported 0.11m tons (MS: 0.06m, HSD: 0.05m).
- Wafi Energy (WAFI): Logged 0.11m tons, up 16% YoY and 1% MoM.
- Hascol Petroleum (HASCOL): Posted 0.04m tons, flat YoY but down 7% MoM.
The growth momentum was primarily fueled by rising demand for MS and HSD, while Furnace Oil continued its structural decline.
