PM Shehbaz in Qatar to Show Solidarity After Israeli Airstrikes on Doha

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Qatar on Thursday to express solidarity following Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in Doha.

In a meeting with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the premier strongly condemned the September 9 attack, terming it a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law.

He assured Pakistan’s full support and conveyed deep sympathies over the loss of lives, praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.

PM Shehbaz stressed that Israel’s aggression must be stopped, calling for Muslim unity to counter provocations and preserve regional stability.

He lauded Qatar’s mediatory role in Gaza peace efforts, saying such attacks were aimed at undermining diplomacy and humanitarian initiatives.

Pakistan, at Qatar’s request, has sought an emergency UN Security Council session and supported Doha’s call for an Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit on September 15.

The premier also thanked Qatar for its past support during Pakistan’s standoff with India, while both leaders agreed to enhance coordination for peace and the rights of Palestinians.

The Foreign Office said the visit highlights Pakistan’s unwavering support for Qatar’s sovereignty and its commitment to Middle East stability.
