PSX Breaks Records: KSE-100 Surges Past 156,500, Touches 157,000 for First Time
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong bullish rally on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index closing at 156,564, up 476 points, after hitting an all-time intraday high of 157,089.
Trading activity remained robust, with 479 million shares exchanged, generating a turnover of PKR 41.2 billion. Major positive contributors were ENGROH (+229 points), FFC (+203 points), MEBL (+186 points), MARI (+175 points), and EFERT (+93 points). On the volume board, KEL (169.6m) and BOP (83.4m) led the activity.
Strong buying momentum was seen in Exploration & Production, Oil Marketing Companies, Banking, and Fertilizer sectors, while Cement stocks witnessed mixed sentiment.
Significantly, the index surpassed the 157,000 mark for the first time, reflecting investor confidence and improved market sentiment. Analysts expect the bullish tone to continue, though some volatility may emerge near record highs. Investors are advised to stay focused on fundamentally strong sectors with attractive dividend yields.
