Karachi, July 29, 2025 — The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) appreciated by 15.83 paisa or 0.06% against the US Dollar during Tuesday’s interbank session, closing at PKR 283.05 compared to the previous close of PKR 283.21.

During the session, the rupee fluctuated between an intraday high of 284 and a low of 286. In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at PKR 284.50 for buying and PKR 286.30 for selling.

PKR also gained strength against several major currencies:

·        Euro: up by PKR 3.54 to 327.20

·        British Pound: up by PKR 2.35 to 377.51

·        Swiss Franc: up by PKR 3.21 to 351.34

·        Japanese Yen: up by 0.34 paisa to 1.9062

·        Chinese Yuan: up by 3.20 paisa to 39.44

·        Saudi Riyal: up by 3.62 paisa to 75.46

·        UAE Dirham: up by 4.20 paisa to 77.06

So far in FY2025, the rupee has appreciated by 71 paisa or 0.25% against the dollar, though it remains down by PKR 4.50 or 1.59% on a calendar-year basis.

In the money market, the 6-month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer Rates (KIBOR) remained unchanged at 10.59% and 10.84%, respectively.
