Gold Prices in Pakistan Drop Rs1,000 per Tola Amid Global Market Dip
Gold prices in Pakistan declined on Friday, following international trends. The price per tola fell by Rs1,000, closing at Rs395,800, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Meanwhile, 10-gram gold was sold at Rs339,334 after a decrease of Rs858.
This follows Thursday’s decline of Rs2,000 per tola, when the price stood at Rs396,800.
On the international front, gold prices also softened, trading at $3,740 per ounce with a $20 premium, down $10 for the day. The U.S. dollar strengthened after stronger-than-expected economic data cast doubt on the Federal Reserve’s rate cut outlook ahead of a key inflation report.
Silver prices, in contrast, edged higher by Rs64 per tola to reach Rs4,499.
The dip in gold highlights the sensitivity of the local market to global trends and the strength of the dollar, affecting bullion demand and prices in Pakistan.
