ISLAMABAD – Starting August 1, petrol prices in Pakistan have been reduced by Rs7.54 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs264.61, according to a notification issued by the Finance Division.
Conversely, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs1.48, now set at Rs285.83 per litre.
The change comes after a routine review of international oil market trends and recommendations by OGRA and related ministries.
Petrol is commonly used by motorcycles, cars, and rickshaws, affecting everyday commuters, especially low-income groups.
Meanwhile, the rise in diesel prices is expected to impact inflation, with diesel being widely used in transport, agriculture, and freight.
