The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has significantly increased oil and gas production at its Rajian-05 well in Chakwal District by installing an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP). Following this successful enhancement, the well is now producing 3,100 barrels of oil per day (BPD) and 1.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas—up from the previous 820 BPD and 0.5 MMSCFD.

Rajian Field, discovered in 1994 and held under the Gujar Khan Exploration License, is a 100% OGDCL-owned and operated asset. The new intervention follows similar ESP installations on two other wells in the field, reinforcing OGDCL’s strategy of revitalizing mature fields through technology-led redevelopment.

By selectively deploying Artificial Lift Systems (ALS) on both low-yield and naturally flowing wells, OGDCL is aligning its operations with international best practices. This strategic move is part of the company’s broader mission to maximize recovery, improve production efficiency, and strengthen Pakistan’s energy security through innovation and data-driven field management.
