Pakistan is actively working to resume PIA flights to New York, following the successful restoration of European and UK routes. During a session at the Pakistan Consulate in New York, Deputy PM & Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reconnecting Pakistan globally.
He cited progress on economic revival, a sharp fall in inflation to 2.4%, and completion of the IMF programme as key milestones. Senator Dar also emphasized Pakistan’s renewed diplomatic momentum, including engagements with the U.S., China, and the UN. A recent meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Pakistan’s UN Security Council presidency were highlighted. He reiterated efforts to secure the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui and strengthen ties with the Pakistani-American community.
Ambassador Rizwan Sheikh urged overseas Pakistanis to support economic growth through investments. The government aims to elevate Pakistan into a G-20 economy, backed by stability and global cooperation.
